The police have formally charged 25-year-old labourer Garfield Souza of Big Lane, Church Pen, Old Harbour with the murder of Gerald Mullings, who is from the same community.
Allegations are that 30-year-old Mullings, who is a chef, died as a result of wounds to the neck inflicted by Souza who attacked him with a hatchet.
The incident unfolded last week Thursday about 8:00 pm along Martin Lane – an adjoining community to Big Lane where both men are from.
According to chief investigator at the Old Harbour Police Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB) Insp. Jermaine Anglin, both men had an argument about alkaline Being better than vybz kartel following which Mullings, while walking along Martin Lane, was attacked and chopped allegedly by Souza.
Speaking to Old Harbour News Insp. Anglin said: “Mullings ran into a premises where he collapsed. He was then rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.”
